Jerry Crips, age 71, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Stonecrest Medical Center. Mr. Crips was the son of the late Jim Robert and Goldie Irene Melton Crips. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jerry Lane Crips, Jr., in August of 1987; sisters, Beverly Diane Crips and Jimmie Irene Carter; and brother, Timmy Joe Crips. He is survived by his wife, Retha Crips; daughter, Lisa Griffin; son, Christopher Michael Crips and his wife Christy; step sons; Jeremy Blackwell and his wife Kathryn and J.D. Blackwell and his wife Jessica; grandchildren, April Newman, Danielle Griffin, Mary Elizabeth Griffin, Noah Crips, Jerry Lane Crips and Benjamin Griffin; several great grandchildren and step grandchildren; brothers, Doug Crips and wife Gail, Tom Crips and wife Pearl, Ricky Crips, Melvin Crips and wife Leeann, Jackie Crips and his wife Anita and Billy Crips and wife Toni; sister, Kathy Crips; his puppy, Hound Dog; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate Mr. Crips will be at Eleven O’clock the morning of Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Roselawn Funeral Home with placement to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are cordially invited to visitation Friday evening from Three O’clock until Eight O’clock. Pallbearers will be Noah Crips, Lane Crips, Benji Griffin, Jeremy Blackwell, Michael Shawn Carter, Tom Crips, Mike Crips, Little Melvin Crips and Harley Crips. He worked many years in HVAC and billboard advertising. He attended World Outreach Church and loved to collect all things American Bald Eagle. My Daddy was always there when i needed something fixed. He could make me laugh so hard. I remember him wrestling with us when we were kids. There are so many memories I cant write them all down. Daddy I Love You.
