

Mrs. Jewel Dean Norris, age 81, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Adams Place. She was the daughter of the late Ruth Wrather and Arthur Dodson. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 57 years, Bob Norris, who passed away in 2020. Mrs. Norris is survived by her son, Cary Norris and his wife Leigh Ann; daughter, Kelly Lamb and her husband Brian; grandsons, Andrew Norris and Evan Norris; sister-in-law, Linda Gail Norris; one niece, Tonya Adcock and five nephews, Dean Norris, Steve Purtle, Ray Purtle, Todd Purtle and David Purtle. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Wrather; father, Arthur Dodson; brothers, Michael Wrather and Joey Wrather; sister, Patsy Holman; and nephew, Jeff Purtle.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Norris will be at Twelve noon on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Roselawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are cordially invited to visitation also on Monday from Ten O’clock in the morning till the service begins at Twelve noon. Pallbearers will be Andrew Norris, Evan Norris, Billy Campbell, Dean Everheart, Bruce Wrather and Bobby Lamb.
Jewel graduated from East High School in Nashville, TN in 1962. She attended Third Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN since 1982, after moving from Spring Hill, Tennessee. She was a ladies Life Group teacher at her church for many years. She was always known as a supporter of missions through her church and taught children’s mission groups in the past. Jewel was a sports fan and she also loved fishing on the lake with her husband and spending time together there. In lieu of flowers—Donations to the MDS Foundation or to Third Baptist Church Growing Forward Fund in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
