Jimmy was born and raised in Lynch, KY. He was the son of the late Burlie and Hattie Viola Foster Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Kathleen Sanders and her husband Michael of Winter Garden, Florida and Sandy Hart and her husband Jason of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; brother, Danny Johnson and his wife Betty of Fayetteville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Colin Sanders, Kendall McGill, Nolan Sanders, Alex Hart, and Bradley Hart; and several nieces and nephews; sister in law Kathleen and her husband David Lyons of Belvidere, IL.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Johnson and brothers, Freddie and Johnny Johnson and his father in law and mother in law Joseph and Florence Straiski.
Memorial services to celebrate Mr. Johnson will be at Twelve O’clock noon on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Roselawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson was a proud US Army veteran, having served from May 1970-October 1979 and in the Army National Guard. Jimmy married Sharon Straiski on June 15,1973. In 1966 he graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago, IL.
Later Jimmy received an associates degree in Applied Sciences from the University of Kentucky in 1970. In his professional life he worked for International Harvester in the Chicago area and was a part of the management team with the Whirlpool Corporation in LaVergne.
Jimmy loved to be outdoors, whether that was working his land, fishing on area lakes or hunting in the woods.
Friends and family are cordially invited to visitation on the morning of Saturday, June 15, 2019 from Ten O’clock until Twelve O’clock noon, when the service begins.
