Killeen Margaret Tenpenny

Killeen Margaret Tenpenny, age 70, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Killeen was the daughter of the late William and Rita Hogan Kress. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Eddie W. Tenpenny; sister, Karen Kress; brothers, Paul Kress (Lew Gordon), James Kress and Billy Kress; nephews, Matthew Ruggles and Ryan Sloan; niece, CiCi Christopher; and several beloved great nieces and great nephews.

Mrs. Tenpenny was a graduate of the University of Miami and received her MBA from the University of Phoenix. She was a long-time healthcare professional. She was formerly the President of the Smyrna VFW Ladies Cooties and remained very active in her support of Veterans and Veteran causes. She was also a member of Creekmont Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

She was loved by all her family and many friends and will be severely missed, especially by her husband, whom she was a faithful and devoted caregiver.

The family wishes to thank Mrs. Betty Pecoraro for her devoted friendship to both Killeen and Eddie. They also wish to thank Ms. Tosha Knox who is Eddie’s beloved caregiver.

A service to celebrate Mrs. Tenpenny will be at One O'clock the afternoon of Friday, February 6, 2026, at Roselawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will also be on the afternoon of Friday, February 6, 2026, from Twelve Noon until the service begins at One o'clock at Roselawn Funeral Home.
