Lewis David Jumpeter, age 49, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away the morning of Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. Lewis was the son of Jim and Barbara Thompson Jumpeter. He is survived by his wife, Michele Jumpeter; parents, Jim and Barbara Jumpeter of Hilton Head, SC; sister, Jennifer Oberaitis and her husband Mike of Duncan, SC; mother-in-law, Joyce Klein and her husband Troy of Gallatin, TN; father-in-law, Wendell DeVries and his wife Melanie of Thompson Station, TN; sister-in-law, Stacey Sarver and her husband Ron of Hendersonville, TN; and stepbrother Jason Hailey and his wife Jessica of Franklin, TN.
Lewis was born in Houston, Texas in 1973. His father’s career led Lewis and the family on many moves, from Houston, to Memphis, then Cleveland (where Lewis became a huge Browns fan), to Arizona, and finally to the Nashville area of Tennessee where he met Michele, the love of his life.
Lewis was the brightest light in any room and never knew a stranger. He loved life and enjoyed hiking, canoeing, and outdoor adventures with Michele. He was a loving uncle to Kelvey and Kinley Sarver; Michaela, Michael, Hope, Gabe and Ella Oberaitis; and Leighton, Cooper, Elijah and Tegan Hailey.
Memorial Service to celebrate Lewis will be at Three O’clock the afternoon of Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Roselawn Funeral Home in Murfreesboro. Friends are cordially invited to visitation also Saturday, September 9, 2023, from One O’clock till the service begins at Three O’clock.
