Dear Linda was the apple of our Dad's eye.  She had many of his traits and mannerisms:  She had a fair complextion (i.e. northern Italian), and the "math gene" to name but two. Also, she liked surprises and pranks, especially doing them to others (our Dad did his in the army while Linda did her's on stage with her best friend, Lois, at the Latin Casino). And, at times, she was stubborn.  

She was 6 years younger than me, so our paths and social circles didn't cross that much growing up. After our Dad's sudden passing, we drifted apart, both of  us persuing careers, and in her case, raising a family.

However, in recent times we reconnected, albeit long distance, via email.  An email would typically begin with "How much snow are you getting?" or my response being  "How did things go with your doctor visit". Nothing deep, but always keeping ourselves updated. And, there was always some news re: her grandkids. Something  she cherished very much. A planned visit here, an event that took place there, etc.  I sensed in her notes she was full of excitement.  All of the dialog was (on both sides) was without prejudice or judgment,  I will miss these notes.  She is gone far too soon and she will always be in my heart.

My baby sister and I were only 15 months apart. We shared everything from bedroom to toys and chores. We were opposites in the way we did things, but very much alike in what we loved, and what truly mattered. Family was everything. We loved playing hopscotch, Chinese jump rope and of course Barbies . Her dolls hair was brushed out and clothes off, mine were ready for the Ball. She wore pink and I wore purple. She was my back up singer when we were pretending to be the Supremes. She was my partner when we did dance recitals for the family. When we went to my father’s restaurant early on Saturday we would help the waitress Mary and Marie set tables and learned how to fold napkins. She loved these waitresses so much she chose their names for her confirmation name. After our chores were finished like ironing, cooking, cleaning and gardening which Linda learned better than me. My mom would treat us to Cow Tail Barn for ice cream or maybe a drive in movie. But our favorite was sleep over with friends like Lois Katz or Bobbie Blasband. Like I said we did everything together. She was my shadow and best friend. She was my father’s favorite. He called her Peanut because she was so cute and sweet. We learned that family was everything and we both carried that love over to our own family. I will miss talking long distance to you about how much we loved raising our kids. Plus the joy our grandkids bring us now. Most importantly teaching them the love and forgiveness that was taught to us. She has been a faithful example of selflessness, kindness, compassion and love to many. I was truly blessed and grateful to have been her older sister. I won’t say goodbye because I will see you in glory someday. Set up the Barbie Dream house and remember I’m Barbie and you are Skipper. 💕💜

Linda you were the sister I always wanted! Thank you for your friendship and love and for being a part of the Cunningham family. We are sad you are not here on earth with us but we know you are in heaven with your family and our family smiling down on all of us and being  Violet 💜 and Witten 💙  special guardian angel 😇 with love❤️, hugs 🤗 and prayers to our Brother/Uncle Bill, Niece/Cousin Carrie-Lynn and family, and Nephew/Cousin Christopher 🙏 Raymond, Cherylann, Bianca and Tyler

When Linda was young, she would always get hurt, falling, scratches and bruises etc. but she never complained, rather she was learning from it. She carried that mindset with her for the rest of her life pushing through whatever life hit her with. And life hit her hard. A true warrior in heart but fragile on the outside. She will always be my little sister that could do anything she set her heart on and beyond. Linda was a loving caring sole who made some both good and bad decisions throughout her life but found a way to get through the chaos of life's ups and downs with a big smile and a willingness to help others.

My mother Linda was my whole world. She always knew what to do in any situation. She was the one who taught me about life and how to treat others with kindness and respect I hope one day I can become the person she always wanted to be. I'll miss you like crazy. Not only were you my mother you were my whole support system. I will always love you and I hope to see you again one day. Love you mommy. Chris Cunningham.

I met Mascarani family at a young age. Our moms were friends and Linda and I were the same age so hung out.  We were always in awe of her brothers John & Rick & Annette.   Over the years we’ve connected through Facebook, enjoying our posts.  My sympathy to her husband, children and brothers and sisters..
