

She was preceded in death by parents Judge William Henry and Elma (Hines) Mathews of Carthage, beloved daughter Sandra Moore Flick, sisters Sallie Avanelle (Sissy) Tuley, Jessie Rollins and brother Bill Mathews.
Mary is survived by grandchildren Alan (Denise) Davenport, Dana (Darin) Anderson, Bruce (Sarah) Davenport, eight great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Mary Mother was a beloved grandmother and a great friend to many. Mary retired after 36 years with Metro Parks and Recreation where she loved and influenced many children during her tenure at Morgan Park and the last 23 years as Director of Shelby Park Community Center. Mary also served as President of Tennessee Recreation and Parks Society in the 1970s.
She was a long time member at Mill Creek Baptist Church and was an avid and pronounced Scrabble player attending many national competitions.
Mary lived her past ten years within the McKendree Village community. She will be missed by many!
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to honor Mary by making donations to Alive Hospice.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00am till 12:00pm noon followed by services to celebrate Mary at 12:00pm noon at Roselawn Funeral Home, 5350 NW Broad Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.
