Mary Ethel Walker, age 80, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away at her home on Saturday, September 26, 2020. Mrs. Walker was the daughter of the late Herbert and Orpha Loewen Reimer. She is survived by her husband; Thomas R. Walker; daughter, Cynthia Crosby Rich and her husband Roy; son, Douglass Harold Crosby; grandchildren, Robert Crosby, Cyrena Rich Bryant and her husband Rocky and Rochelle Rich Whittaker and her husband Jacob; great grandchildren, Dyllon Bryant, Hailey Bryant, Savannah Bryant, Makayla Bryant, Paisley Bryant and Amelia Bryant. Services to celebrate Mrs. Walker will be at Two O’clock the afternoon of Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Roselawn Funeral Home with placement to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are cordially invited to visitation also Thursday, October 1, 2020 from Twelve O’clock noon till the service begins at Two O’clock.
Mrs. Walker was a former employee of Central State Hospital in Nashville and retired as a Physical Therapy Assistant from the VA Hospital. She was a longtime member of Smyrna First United Methodist Church, having been a member of the choir. Because her parents were missionaries, she had a heart for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and participated in numerous mission trips to Mexico. She also had a great talent and passion for hand making “Angel Pins” which she donated the proceeds from sales to her church. Her story was shared by the Daily News Journal and Tennessee Crossroads.
