I am so sad this was my third grade teacher at Stewartsboro Elementary school...she was a great teacher loud, funny, strict, and a certain looks she gave you that mean you better straighten up... I called it her "big eyes" whewn I was a child . Mrs. Hicks was amazing and I will never for get her,!! Rest in peace and thankyou for making such an impact in children's life like mine!

I loved Nita with all my heart. She was such an exceptional friend that encouraged me so many times and caused me to laugh so hard with her funny stories. Nita would do anything for you. I loved how she would straight up tell it like it is . She had NO fear. She was my partner in crime for sure.
Nita loved and supported her family in all that they did. You saw her sitting proudly at games, scrimmages, school programs, and working concessions for their fundraisers. Nita was very fair and honest and stood up for what she thought was right even if she stood alone.
Nita loved teaching at Stewartsboro beyond words. She spent hours and hours at school working on lesson plans, coaching softball, helping others, and just listening when others needed her wisdom. We were all better people with her inspiring us.
I pray that our good Lord above will provide strength, comfort, and peace for Ed and her precious children. She will be sorely missed. Fly high, Nita.
The Marshall family loves you!

5th grade at Stewartsboro was such a great year at school as this was the 1st time we began switching classes feeling like “big kids.” Mrs. Hicks was my math teacher and she was one of my favorite periods to be in! She was hard on you to make you succeed but had a heart of gold and always shared hugs with all of us when we needed them. My condolences for all of her family and praying for peace and comfort for you all during this time.
