Ronald Coleman “Ron” Ball, age 82, passed on Friday, November 6, 2026, at his home. Ron was born February 27, 1944, in Alexander, North Carolina, to the late Kimsie and Mattie Roberts Ball. Throughout his life, Ron was known for being honest and straight-forward—never one to hide where he stood—and for the steady determination and hard work that shaped both his career and the way he cared for the people and responsibilities entrusted to him. His wisdom, loyalty, and quietly inspirational example were felt most deeply by those who knew him best.
Ron is survived by his sons, Troy Ball and his wife Jennifer, and Jason Ball and his wife Annette; grandchildren, Blake Ball and his wife Felicia, Lauren Pardon and her husband Ashton, Emily Ross and her husband Colby, and Aaron Ball and his wife Haley; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Faye Metcalf, Clara Youle, and Irene Earwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Betty Metcalf, Roland Ball, and Raymond Ball.
Ron carried a great sense of humor and was well known for giving people a hard time—often simply to see if they could handle it. He had no filter, but with Ron, you always knew exactly where you stood. He also took pride in doing things the right way, whether in his work, in his commitments, or in the everyday details of life—right down to yard work, which he took very seriously, always keeping a beautifully manicured lawn. Wherever he went, Ron was also known for being the best dressed in the room, a reflection of the care and self-respect he brought to all he did.
In 2010, Ron was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Casual Furnishings Society as an Independent Sales Representative in Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Georgia—an honor that reflected years of determined effort and a reputation built on integrity. He also served as a Deacon for many years at Third Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, living out his faith with steadfast loyalty and a consistent, dependable presence.
An accomplished golfer, Ron found enjoyment in the game and the discipline it requires. A North Carolina native, he was an ardent fan of the Tarheel Basketball program and also loved Alabama Crimson Tide Football. Yet above all else, Ron most of all loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren, taking deep pride in them and holding them close in his heart.
