Ruth Janelle Steele, of Smyrna, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Stonecrest Medical Center. Janelle was the daughter of the Marie Harper Whetstone and the late Lewis Barrett Whetstone. She is survived by her husband of over 45 years, Robert L. “Bob” Steele, Jr.; daughter and son in law, Melissa and Brian Hutchings; grandson, Soren Hutchings; mother, Marie Whetstone; and brothers, Daniel Keith (Diane) Whetstone and Timothy Dale (Cynthia) Whetstone. Services to celebrate Mrs. Steele will be at Three O’clock the afternoon of Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Roselawn Funeral Home with Jack Galloway officiating. Placement will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Steele attended Trevecca University and was a long time administrative assistant at Vanderbilt University School of Law.
