

Vanessa Camel was born on January 2, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, to L.T. and Dorrice Camel. She was one of four children.
Vanessa (Van) attended CVS-77 High School in Chicago and later attended Tennessee State University (TSU), where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management. She was also a proud member of the Chicago TSU Club.
Vanessa passed away peacefully in her home in Nashville, Tennessee. She will be remembered for her bubbly personality, caring spirit, and genuine love for others.Her kindness and warm heart touched the lives of her family, friends, and many others.
Van loved cooking and baking and especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren. In recent years, Vanessa had also developed a love for gardening, beginning to grow some of her own vegetables. Her niece Lauren voices that cooking was her love language.
Vanessa was a devoted mother to her son, Edward Camel (Liz), and a loving grandmother to Isaiah, Kamiya, and Kaiden Camel. Vanessa had three brothers: Anthony (Victoria). Larry and Tyrone Camel (deceased) as well as her cherished God Sister, Sherri, and God Uncle, Willie.
Vanessa also had six nieces and nephews, including Carlos Antonio, Dewayne (deceased) Antonio, Lauren, Ashley, and Eric.
