I’ll always remember getting to see my cousin Bill at family get-togethers at our Grandmother Vaughter's house in Rockvale, Vaughter family reunions, Mother’s Day at Aunt Maggie’s, and other family events. I was always in owe of my cool older cousin.
I am very grateful to have been able to reconnect & share time with him and our other cousins at the “Cousin’s Lunches” over the last several years.
Bill was an amiable, kind, caring, generous man that I will never forget. He is greatly missed.

Brenda, Sherry and I are so saddened to have just learned of Bill’s passing. We loved the few times we got together and could see his gentle nature that you could share these past many years. A perfect match. My brothers Dick and John also enjoyed meeting and visiting with Bill at the little restaurant in Gordy. I think they may have envied his motorcycle skills. Thoughts and prayers to you. Hope we can catch up sometime.

Mr. Bill was my agent and that of most of my family since the 80's. He was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I've ever known and showed a genuine interest and concern for others, especially in times of need.
I count myself as blessed for having known this special, Godly man.

We were so sorry to hear about the passing of Bill. We worked with him at State Farm for many years. He was a great agent who really took care of his clients while maintaining the quality expected of him by the company. When Bill told you something you could count on it being the truth. I was able to ride motorcycles with him for a number of years and always enjoyed seeing him. We remember the many times he would cut an article or picture from the paper, laminate it, and mail it to us if it involved our family in some way. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brenda as she moves forward without Bill. After a great deal of consideration, we decided not to attend the memorial due to the current Covid-19 situation, although we would prefer to be there. Our sincerest condolences. Jim and Judy Stacey

I was so sad to hear of your passing. From the first time I met you in the 80's , you were our Manager when I worked for Jim Gaither in Donelson. We learned a lot from you, but the most important thing was you were a good friend. Always there to lend an ear or offer advise when needed. You loved the cake we had made for you on your birthday one year, it was a big slice of cheese with the words, "Happy Birthday To The Big Cheese" RIP my friend, you will be missed! Elaine Campbell

We pray God’s peace will rest upon each of you as you reflect on the joyful moments of Bill’s life, his wisdom, his love for family and for others so that it remains a legacy for years to come.

We comfort you with words from Revelations 21:4, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Dear Brenda and family,
Bill was such a thoughtful, kind, loving man. Gregg and I worked with him and the youth of FUMC. He was generous with his time and love. He was a terrific roll model for the teens.
Bill was, also, my Mother’s State Farm Agent, and I was constantly impressed with the personal attention he gave her needs.
I am so sorry for your loss.
God bless you,
Carol Hargett
