Winnie Marie Whetstone, age 92, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021. Mrs. Whetstone was the daughter of the late Rheet Harper and Nellie Duggan Harper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barrett Whetstone, daughter, Janelle Steele, and sister, Ruth Weeks. She is survived by her sons, Danny Whetstone and his wife Diane, Dale Whetstone and his wife Cynthia, and son-in-law, Bob Steele; grandchildren, Melissa Hutchings and husband Brian, Allison Dumas and husband Josh, Steven Whetstone and wife Jessica, Tyler Whetstone and wife Kristen, Haley Tidwell and husband Ryan; great grandchildren, Soren Hutchings, Lenore Dumas, Margot Dumas, Barrett Whetstone, Harper Whetstone and Ada Whetstone. Mrs. Whetstone was a member of the Nashville First Church of the Nazarene. This followed over forty years of service as a pastor’s wife with her husband in churches throughout the southeast including Georgia, Texas, Alabama, and Tennessee. Services to celebrate Mrs. Whetstone will be at Twelve O’clock noon Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Roselawn Funeral Home with visitation also Saturday morning from Ten O’clock until the service begins. Officiating the service will be Dr. Kevin M. Ulmet, Rev. Jack Galloway, and Dr. William Strickland. Placement will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mrs. Whetstone may be made to the Memorials to Church fund at First Church of the Nazarene. www.onrealm.org/nfcn/-/give/now. Dear Danny & Dale, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a happy, special lady. I can hear her laugh while she and my mom could talk forever!! Personally, I will always remember her delicious yeast rolls!! Would love that recipe, I mentioned it to Janelle when we would connect on fb. Y’all are in my thoughts & prayers!!
