Craig Steven Wenzel, 70, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday morning, September 13, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. He drew his final breaths near the family he adored, in the place he truly considered home.
Born on March 17, 1956, in Torrance, California, Craig was the second of four children. He was a Southern California boy through and through, spending his entire life in the area to remain close to the roots and people that mattered most to him.
Growing up, Craig was known for his contagious, playful sense of humor. He was a master of the sibling prank, generating decades' worth of family stories and laughter when people least expected it. But beyond the jokes, Craig had an immense, generous heart. He loved his family without reservation, wore his emotions on his sleeve, and would drop everything to help someone he cared about. Remarkably resilient and kind, Craig never held a grudge; his rare ability to forgive, let things go, and keep loving unconditionally was his true superpower.
When he wasn’t with family, Craig was likely thinking about cars. Anyone who knew him understood that driving wasn’t just a hobby for Craig—it was a true passion and a reflection of his free spirit.
Craig’s love and laughter live on through his daughters, Stephanie Wenzel and Aimee Brigandi, (shared with his late wife and best friend Dana Wenzel) and his cherished grandchildren, Quentin Taylor and Dana Brown. He also leaves behind his deeply loved siblings, Duane (Lois) Wenzel, Julie (Richard) Chambers, and Melissa (William) Vasquez, and many loved nephews and nieces a long with a lifetime of beautiful memories.
He was profoundly loved, he will be deeply missed, and his joyful spirit will never be forgotten.
