David Myles Walker Jr. of Winchester, California was born on Thursday, September 28, 1944, and entered into rest on Saturday, February 11, 2023. He was born in Snowflake, West Virginia, to Caroline and David Walker Sr. David went to Huntington High School and after graduation, he joined the military. He, eventually, made his way to Norfolk, Virginia, where he met his wife, the love of his life, Sandra Barnes, soon to be, Sandra Walker. He was a loving husband and father to 4 children; Toya, David, Samantha, and Darkesha Walker. David was affectionately known as “Walk” or “Mr. Walker.” He had many names for his friends that he loved. He was a special man, one that would be there when you needed, no matter the time or place. He showed his son, how to be a man and his daughters what it means to be young ladies. He was a father and friend to many. He loved his wife and kids and would do anything for them. He loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Caroline Richmond; his father, David Walker Sr.; his wife, Sandra Walker; his brother, LeRoy Walker; and his daughter, Toya Walker-Spratley. He leaves to cherish his memories his son, David M. Walker III; his two daughters, Samantha Walker and Darkesha Walker, of Winchester, California; 7 grandchildren, Phillip Green Jr., of Las Vegas, Nevada, Alyas (Matthew) Thoene, of Coleridge, Nebraska, Marcellous K. Green, Alexandria E. Walker, Marcus J. Walker, Donnell Blount Jr., of Winchester, California; 3 great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Thoene, Jaxon Thoene and Gabriel Thoene, of Coleridge, Nebraska, 3 brothers, John (Margaret) Walker, Paul (Ernestine) Richmond, James Richmond Jr., of Huntigton, West Virginia; and 4 sisters, Jeanette Dabney, of Chesapeake, Virginia, Gail I. Walker, Dora Iwotor, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Priscilla Richmond, of Huntington, West Virginia; and a host of family and friends.
