

Born on October 20, 1922 in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York, she was the youngest of five children born to immigrant parents, Filippa Giubardo and Charles Pernice from Sicily.
A graduate of Hunter College of New York, she enjoyed a sorority membership in Alpha Xi Delta, receiving The Order of the Rose honorarium in 1990 for 50 years of service. She worked in the Empire State Building for Blue Cross Blue Shield, then moved to Granville, New York upon her marriage to William Scott. Grace taught music at Granville Elementary School for 21 years, and was the organist at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Granville. After retiring in 1980, they moved to California. Grace taught at the Mae Carden School and was organist of St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in Temecula, California. She also taught private piano lessons until age 90.
Grace was pre-deceased by her husband William Scott (1994), two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her three daughters – Mary Ellen (Scott) DiPietra (Dante) of Liverpool, NY; Barbara Scott of Huntington Beach, CA; and Dr. Filippa (Scott) Viola (Anthony) of Washington, ME; three granddaughters – Danielle (DiPietra) Bousquet (Christopher) of Fort Myers, FL; Dr. Marissa Viola-LaBreck (Dr. Christopher LaBreck) of Saugus, MA; and Natalie (Viola) Long (Cameron) of Rockland, ME.
There will be a celebration of life at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in Temecula, followed by a small family gathering.
