Judith Zarate was born on March 1st, 1933 in Brownsville, Tx., to Catalina Saenz and Constantino Zarate. She had five siblings, Eloy, Constantino Jr., Brunilda, Italo and Rene. She attended high school at Brownsville High before studying to be a nurse in Galveston. It was during this time she met her future husband and Doctor, Donald D. Eddy and they were married in November of 1954. The couple raised four beautiful children, Michael, Donnette, Lisa and Steven. In 2005 Judy lost her husband to a brain aneurysm and later, in 2011, she lost her eldest son Michael to cancer.
Judy always loved the beach, antiques, sewing and spending time with her family. She was an avid reader, flower arranger and art lover. She also loved dancing to her favorite songs. Throughout the 70's and 80's she would fill her beloved home (Riverside's Historic "Casa Arroyo") with music. Some of her favorite artists were Engelbert Humperdinck, Perry Como and ABBA. In the mid 70's Judy was a founding member of the "Friends of the Mission Inn" in Riverside, Ca., a group dedicated to the full restoration and maintenance of that amazing structure. Later, in the 80's, she had a very successful antique shop (on the Mission Inn Mall) called "Encore Antiques". All of her siblings except Italo have passed away. She is also survived by her three surviving children, Donnette, Lisa and Steven. Judith was a very devout Catholic, and good and loving mother. She will be dearly missed.
