I’ll always remember the summer of 2020, waking up early each Saturday and getting the privilege to run with Nery and the rest of the run club. Nery was such a kind person, and her warmth left a lasting impression on everyone around her. I’m grateful to have shared those miles and memories with her.

I am lucky to have meet such a wonderful person. I never saw Nedy mad or stressed. The Nedy I'll remember is always smiling and drinking energy drinks. I'll miss our conversations at work when you were supposed to chart. Such a great nurse, always looking for the patient well-being.

I first met Nery in Hawaii in 2017 before our husbands deployed. From the moment I met her, she was incredibly welcoming and kind. She had a way of making people feel comfortable and cared for. The last time I saw her was at a retirement ceremony last year, and I was so excited to see her again and catch up. Nery was truly a beautiful soul, and I feel grateful to have known her. She will be deeply missed ❤️

You always lit up no matter how fast or slow life was! I'm so grateful for the time I had with you, for getting to spend one of your birthdays with you even when nothing was going through with our cards for that whole day. You are so truly loved. 
Thank you for being in my life, I wish everybody not only had more time with you but also for the ones who would've been so lucky to've met you 💜

My heart is broken by the loss of my high school best friend, Nereida “Nery” Benitez. She was a light in my life from the moment we met — someone who stood by me through high school, ROTC, laughter, challenges, and all the memories that shaped who we became. Those moments will forever live in my heart. Even though life took us down different paths after graduation, the bond we shared never faded. Nery was the kind of friend you carry with you for a lifetime — loyal, kind, unforgettable. I will always be grateful for her friendship, her love, and the pieces of my life that she helped build.
