It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nereida Benitez, a devoted wife, compassionate nurse, and beloved friend whose life was dedicated to caring for others.
Born in Texas and later making her home in Temecula, California, Nereida touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping those in need. She was married to her loving husband, Emilio Hernandez, and together they built a life filled with love, support, and shared dreams. Above all, she was a proud and devoted mother to her son, Josiah Burton.
Nursing was more than a career to her—it was her calling. Her passion for serving others extended beyond the hospital walls. Nereida was excitedly pursuing her dream of becoming an Air Force Trauma Nurse, a goal that reflected her dedication, courage, and desire to make a difference on an even greater scale.
Nereida passed away while doing what she loved most—serving and caring for others. Though her time with us was far too short, her legacy of compassion, strength, and selfless service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her and in the many lives she touched throughout her career.
She will be remembered for her great smile, caring spirit, and remarkable ability to bring comfort to those around her. Nereida’s memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Emilio, her son, Josiah, her family, friends, colleagues, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Visitation will be held at Miller Jones Mortuary located at 26855 Jefferson Ave Suite A, Murrieta, CA 92562, on June 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
