Paul Richard Sandstedt, age 71 of Murrieta, California passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024. Paul was born in Santa, California on November 10, 1952, to Norma and Richard Sandstedt. A few years later Paul became the proud older brother of Carl and Mark Sandstedt.
In his youth Paul enjoyed playing baseball, surfing, racing dirt bikes and riding motorcycles. Paul also joined a Van club, which eventually grew so large, catching enough attention and interest, eventually leading to the first ever Van magazine. Paul had a huge passion for space and learning all there was to know about space and technology and how they both related to what would come of the future. Paul also loved dogs and had many throughout his life. Paul loved to share his knowledge, interests, and life story with anyone who would sit and listen.
Paul graduated from Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California. There is where he met his wife, Debbie Ann Short, who he spent the next 50 years growing with, learning from and loving. Paul and Debbie were married on September 17, 1983 in Laguna Niguel, California. Together they had two daughters, Heather LeAnn Sandstedt and Sarah Elizabeth Sandstedt. Paul was a proud father who always encouraged his daughters to do their best in everything they did, to always be themselves, and to never settle for less than they deserved.
Paul was also a proud grandfather. He loved being “Papa” to both his grandsons, Kai Avery Crawford and Aiden James Donley. He loved every minute he was able to spend with them, even if only for a short while.
Paul Richard Sandstedt’s legacy will live on through the lessons he taught, the loved he shared, and the memories his family and loved ones will cherish forever.
