Born on July 11, 1968, Richie was the beloved son of Oscar and Otilia Hernandez, who preceded him in death.
Richie is survived by his wife of 29 years, Regina Hernandez, and his son, Joshua Hernandez. He is also survived by his siblings: Michael Hernandez and his wife Mary, Dennis Hernandez, Christopher Hernandez, Kathy Tullis and her husband Brian, and Mary "Ebby" Hernandez.
Richie built a long and successful career in the RV industry, where he was widely known and highly respected for his knowledge, leadership, and dedication. Throughout his years in RV sales and operations, he developed countless friendships that extended far beyond the workplace. Many of those friends became like family, a testament to the genuine relationships he built and the impact he had on those around him. One longtime coworker perhaps described him best: "Richie was tough on you, but it was because he loved you." He challenged people to be their best, invested in their success, and genuinely cared about those he worked alongside.
Outside of work, Richie enjoyed spending time on the water fishing, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, and gathering with family and friends for a good game of poker. He loved the camaraderie, competition, and stories shared with those closest to him.
Above all else, Richie loved his family. He shared 29 years of marriage with Regina and was grateful for the life and family they built together. Nothing brought Richie greater joy than being Joshua's dad. He was immensely proud of his son and cherished every moment they spent together. His love for Joshua was unwavering and evident in everything he did. Richie also treasured the time he spent with his nephew Jonathan, Jonathan's wife Nancy, and their children Bella, Ally, JJ, Kimberly, and Olivia, creating memories, sharing stories, and enjoying the special bond they shared.
Those who knew Richie will remember his hardworking spirit, his loyalty to family and friends, and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He leaves behind a legacy of friendship, mentorship, kindness, and devotion. Whether as a husband, father, brother, friend, or colleague, Richie made people feel valued, challenged them to be their best, and loved them deeply.
Richie will be remembered for the way he loved his family, invested in his friends, and challenged others to become their best. Though he is gone too soon, the impact he made on the lives of those he loved will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Richie's life on June 13, 2026, at the home of Richie and Joshua.
