Warren Taylor Waterworth was born in Los Angeles on May 23, 1931, the third of eight children. Raised during the difficult years following the Great Depression, he learned early the values of sacrifice, perseverance, and family. A gifted athlete, Warren starred in football at Mount Carmel High School and helped lead his team to a California state championship.
After graduation, Warren proudly served four years in the United States Navy as a communications technician and signals intelligence operator stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Returning home, he married Janet and raised three children—Warren, Deanna, and Carolyn—while building a 40-year career with Southern California Gas Company. Following Janet’s passing, Warren found love again with Rosemarie, and they shared 25 joyful years together.
Warren’s greatest happiness came from his family. He treasured holidays, Easter egg hunts, laughter, and time spent with his 6 children, 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Remembered for his infectious smile, wonderful sense of humor, strong work ethic, patriotism, and generous heart, Warren lived a life of strength, service, love, and family. His legacy will endure through the four generations who were blessed to love him.
