Allan Bailey was a friend from the days we lived at the Savannah Club Apartments, before he purchased a home nearby on Bryn Mahr Street. He was hard-working, smart, and successful in his fire equipment business, helpful to the other residents and well liked by the other tenants.

Prior to my father's death in 2021, he had worked with Allan many years. Allan always brought us a Honey Baked Ham every year for the Holidays.  He continued to send one to my mother another 11 years until she also passed. Still miss those visits.

Allan was my good friend for over 20 years. Witty and smart. Loved helping me work my little ranch in el campo. Showed up at my office on Christmas with egg nog to share. I miss him. 😞🙏🎉

Allan and I worked together for many years and we became quick friends from the start.  His ability to weave a story was incredible, and he shared many stories over our 30 years of friendship.   I always looked forward to our conversations, which were usually lengthy, and filled with stories of his family, of whom he was very proud, and his life experiences.  I miss his emails of jokes, cartoons or an article that he thought would be of interest.  Allan will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives he touched.

I was very saddened to hear of Allan's passing. Allan lived across the hall from me in the apartment I rented when I graduated from SMU and we became good friends. It was Allan who drove me to the ER when, by  accident, I glued my fingers together with Superglue.  We both later bought homes in Afton Oaks and often had coffee at Starbucks. We spoke on the phone often and about a month before his passing, he called me to chat and we had such a good conversation.  There was no one like Allan - he was one a kind - to know him was to love him. When I moved into my home, I found chopped wood for my fireplace at my front door without a note. I later learned it was from Allan. He truly walked the walk. He had a sharp mind, quick wit and a huge heart. And he was a loyal friend and a patriot. Miss you, Allan. May your memory be eternal. 

I am Beyond sad to hear of Allen’s passing🥲My family absolutely adores this man and have soooo many loving happy memories of him.  Allen was our neighborhood Starbucks bestie.  We have known Allen for 18 years since my first born child- we walk to Starbucks in highland village daily and he has seen all 4 of my kids gro over the last 18 years.  Allen came to our children’s baseball games/football/and many a happy celebrations.  We will miss him so much and all of his incredible sense of humor and outlook on life🙏🏻😇❤️💪🏼🙌🏻Oren family LOVED him so.  RIP

We are neighbors of Allan in Afton Oaks in Houston. Allan was an incredibly gifted person, easy to talk to, and kind in every sense of the word. We will miss his old car cruising by, and seeing him head to Central Market on his bike for coffee. He always kept an eye on things and considered everyone a neighbor. Allan did not make a fuss about himself. Even with a hospital bracelet on, he did not make his cancer the focus of conversation. He cared about others and the world and seemed to appreciate every moment. God bless you, Allan. We were blessed to know you, and we hope to see you again in the eternal heavenly neighborhood. 

Thanks mate for sharing tails of history and cattle. We had that and a few other things in common, such as my cows and Fluffy the donkey. She will miss your soft voice as she munches on the mints you gave her. I will tend to the woodlands with its wide oaks and tall pines and remember you as I walk the fence line. Go in peace old warrior you put up a long and good fight.
