

A graveside service for Amos R. Martin, 79, of Nacogdoches will be held on
Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. at Shilo Cemetery in Texarkana, Arkansas with Pastor Craig Jenkins officiating.
Mr. Martin passed away Friday, August 13, 2010, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
He was born August 7, 1931, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to William Martin
and Ada Marie Murphy. He served in the Navy where he was a radio operator on a submarine during the Korean War. He later received his Master’s Degree from the University of Arkansas and retired from Vineland Laboratory’s. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Amos was both an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow.
He is survived by his wife Catherine; two sons, Amos Martin Jr., of Nacogdoches and Jerry Martin of Clairmoore, Oklahoma, and daughter Brenda Martin Farmer of Knob Lick, Kentucky. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Megan of Gainsville, Texas and Misty, Dustin, Dayne, all of Nacogdoches and great grandchildren; Keelie McDonald and Chelby Williams also of Nacogdoches.
Active pallbearers will include; Amos Martin Jr., Jerry Martin, Dayne Martin, Bill Martin, Tip Smith, Dick Rayne, Jerry Andis, and Bobby Stroop.
Friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, August 16, 2010, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral
