

Miss Butler was born June 25, 1935, in Goodrich, Texas, and was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed a distinguished career in public education, retiring as a speech pathologist and teacher with Central Heights Independent School District. She held a Masters Degree in speech pathology from Stephen F. Austin State University.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Henry and Daisy Elisha Butler; and her brother and sister-in-law, Vernon W. and Florence Butler.
Her survivors include her nephews, Dana Butler, Greg Butler, and Brian Butler; and a niece, Laurie Butler.
Graveside services have been set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Sunset Memorial Park, 5127 North St., Nacogdoches, with Rev. John Bingham officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.
It was Miss Butler's desire that in lieu of flowers, memorials should be offered to a church or charity of your choice.
