

Dr. Anthony W. Jorgenson passed away Sept. 22, 2015.
Anthony (Tony) Jorgenson was raised on a farm in Minnesota. In the 1960's he moved to Laredo for 1 year, then onto San Antonio. While he was there he went to St. Mary's University. He graduated from there as Valedictorian from his class. After that he went to the University of Texas for 1 year on a masters program but decided to go to Galveston where he started his medical program.
Florence (Flo) was born in McDade, Texas, near Elgin. Her family were ranchers. At a later age she went to Galveston to go to medical school where they both had their internships.
After getting married, they had their son, Erik. Soon they went to Germany where Anthony fulfilled his military obligation and was a Major in the Army. After finishing this they both came to Nacogdoches.
Florence worked at Memorial Hospital with Dr. Vandrovec as the first woman radiologist in Nacogdoches. Anthony opened his practice as an orthopedic surgeon in 1976. in 1999 they both retired and moved to Hunt, Texas, in a lovely home in the country.
They traveled around the country to their favorite places and enjoyed life together. Frequently they would come back to Nacogdoches to visit their lifelong friends.
They will be remembered for the love, kindness, and generosity they gave to so many people. Everyone loved them!

They are survived by their son, Erik Jorgenson and wife Kathy; and nephews, Edward Jorgenson and Rodney Jorgenson.
A memorial service to celebrate the lives of Dr. Anthony W. Jorgenson and Dr. Florence Jorgenson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nacogdoches.
