Ara Alan Roe

Ara Alan Roe DOB 9-26-77 DOD 2-20-19

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Ara. Ara touched many lives in the Nacogdoches and surrounding area. If anyone ever needed anything and he had it, it was certainly yours to borrow. Ara spent over a decade working for Plant Operations at Memorial Hospital where maintained the HVAC system or any issues that were thrown his way. He learned to fix and build just about anything. He was a jack of all trades that begun with him taking his tricycle apart to maintaining multi ton, water cooled, AC units. As if that wasn’t enough he was a fantastic cook and a master of the BBQ pit. If you’ve ever had his short ribs and brisket, you would agree. He also had a great love of flying and aircraft engine repair. Even if it was a remote controlled toy drone, helicopter or airplane, it would bring him hours of joy.

He is preceded in death by: Grandfathers, Ottis Ara Roe and Thomas Eugene Randall. Grandmother, Agnes Randall.

He will be dearly missed and is survived by: Son, Dillon Roe. Mother and Father, Barbara Roe and Ara Ottis Roe. Brothers, Rodney Roe, Ottis Ara Roe. Sister, Rhonda Roe. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.

Graveside service officiated by Pastor John Withem of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Service to be held at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, February 27th, 2019, Cold Springs Cemetery, Garrison Texas.

I had the opportunity to get to know Ara just over a year ago . It was winter and I was living out of my car with my girlfriend. He took us in and accommodated us like we were family. Thank for the memory's and Godspeed my brother. Miss you.

Ara was one of a kind. Never saw him without a smile on his face. He would do anything he could for his fellow man. Will be truly missed. GOD bless his family.

I ran into Ara at Walmart probably less than a year ago. We just got to talking and had a long conversation. Ara told me that he had been saved and was putting all his trust in God. Ara was so happy and I could see the light of Jesus Christ shining in him.

I worked at Memorial Hospital and was friends with Ara. Very pleasant to work with.
Working in the Dietary Department, we were always in need of Plant Ops to fix something
and Ara would help any time he was asked. It was a pleasure to be friends with Ara. He always
had a smile and kind word.

Ara was always trying to help others. And he would get so excited at things that you couldn’t help but share his joy.
He loved to play the piano and loved being outside. We would drive around for hours and hours in the country and just see what we could find. I will miss his energy. I will miss his smile. I will miss his desire to just be loved.
He loved his family and friends and definitively his son Dillon.
I haven’t talked to him in recent years, but I know this is still true: Ara loved with everything he had. I will miss you Ara-ra. ♥️
