

Barbara Stanaland Heflin passed away Sept. 19, 2010, in Nacogdoches. She was born Feb. 6, 1928, to Edgar W. and Bertie Green Stanaland. She married the love of her life, Henry H. Heflin Jr., on July 20, 1946.
Barbara was a nurse in Nacogdoches for various employers including Dr. Beall, Dr. Williamson, Memorial Hospital, Medical Center Hospital, and Oak Manor Nursing Home.
Barbara loved the Lord and was a charter member of New Faith Baptist Church. She held various offices within the church, secretary, church council, WMU leader, and Sunday School teacher. Barbara was also a longtime member of the Pythians Sisters and Order of the Eastern Star.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Barbara McDaniel and husband G.L. of Kingtown; sons, Jason Heflin and wife Susie, Wayne Heflin and wife Patty, and Gary Heflin and wife Georgia, all of Nacogdoches; brother, Edgar Stanaland and wife Linda of Nacogdoches; sisters, Mattie Ruth Dale of Beaumont and Helen Louise Stanfield of Douglass; sister-in-law, Wilma Jenkins of Orange; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents; one brother, Joseph Stanaland; brothers-in-law, Woodrow Dale, Ralph Stanfield, J.W. Jenkins; nephew, Tim Stanaland.
Services are set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Rev. Sonny Scarborough and Rev. Jon Hancock officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Jeff Stanaland, Jimmy Stanaland, Danny Collins, Mike Stanfield, Larry Dale, Charlie Dale, Bruce Selman, and Dale Taylor.
Memorial donations may be made to Fairview Cemetery.
