Betty Elizabeth Fancher Wendland

Betty was born December 5, 1943, in Garrison, Texas. She grew up in Garrison with her aunts, uncles, and grandparents. She was married to Pascal Shelton Jernigan and they had five children. She later married Ronald David Wendland, who lived in Houston.

She worked for Texas Instruments for a number of years. Betty collected stuffed animals for her grandchildren and home décor items. She loved garage sales too.

Holidays, such as Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving, were special times to Betty. She was always happy cooking and sharing recipes with family and friends.

Her survivors include her husband, Ronald David Wendland; children, Sheila Ann Jernigan, David Wayne Jernigan and wife Shirley Ann, Charlotte Ann Patterson and husband Matt; Pamela Adamson, and Karen Lee Cognevich; grandchildren, Shelley Ann McKinney, Judy Elizabeth Whatley, Sharon Renee Poskey, Ashley Elizabeth Jernigan, Patrick Shelton Jernigan, Jeremy Jernigan, Matthew Ray Patterson Jr., Sommer Nicole Thorp, Michael Wayne Jernigan, and Daniel Jernigan Kneppler; a host of great-grandchildren; and two aunts, Ruby Schlette and Linda Fancher.

Funeral services have been set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Cason Monk-Metcalf's Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas, with Rev. Brian Tyre officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 5127 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.

Pallbearers are Patrick Jernigan, Matthew Patterson Jr., Corey Whatley, James McKinney, Jeremy Jernigan, and Jared Eddy.
