Betty Granny Ruth Knight

Betty Ruth Knight, 83, resident of Nacogdoches, passed away Friday, January, 11, 2013, at a local hospital. Betty was born in Easley, South Carolina on November 8, 1929 to parents Jay Cothran and Lessie Leota Henson Cothran. A funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Bailey Alders at the Eastview United Pentecostal Church, 1407 N. Medford Dr., Lufkin, Texas on Tuesday January 15, 2012 at 10:00 am.Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Lufkin.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents and son, Harold Dean Starnes.Betty is survived by her daughters, Delores Elaine Long and husband Lee Roy of Alvin Texas, Betty Bethea Lewis of Nacogdoches; ten grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.

The family will recieve guests for visitation at Gipson Funeral Home, 1515 S Chestnut Dr. Lufkin, Texas from 6-9 pm on Monday, January 14.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Long, Terry Long, Lee Whitehead, Justin Whitehead, David Purdy, LaVohn Bass, Jeff Alexander, and Leonard Arrington. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Messer, Ryan Hughes, Trevor Starnes, and David Purdy, Jr.
