Bobby was the youngest of five children. He grew up in Nacogdoches County and graduated from Nacogdoches High School.
After graduating high school in 1935, Bobby worked in the cattle industry throughout East Texas buying, selling, and transporting cattle.
Bobby served two terms in the United States Army during the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. His service to his country was one of the greatest periods of his life. He reflected upon it often with deep admiration and fond memories of his fellow servicemen.
Bobby returned to Nacogdoches where he continued his love of bull riding, farming and ranching. He maintained a large herd of cattle throughout his life and contracted for Holly Farms and Tyson for more than 30 years. Bobby was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nacogdoches, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents Matt and Minnie Pantalion, James Frank Pantalion, Ross Vincent Pantalion, and Matthew Lamar Pantalion.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Flora Nell Wells Pantalion of Nacogdoches; sister, Lera Pantalion Cordova of Atascocita, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Angela Pantalion Webb and Duncan White Webb of Boerne, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Robin Pantalion Smith and Slaton Sharp Smith of Nacogdoches, Texas; and his son Bobby Neal Pantalion, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bobby is also survived by his 5 grandsons, Hayden William Webb, attending Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas; Blake Matthew Webb, attending Texas A&M University at Galveston, Galveston, Texas; and Samuel Gunnar Smith, Jake Pantalion Smith, and Robert Aaron Augustus Smith, all of Nacogdoches, Texas.
The family wishes to express our deepest love and gratitude to our sitters who have become a part of our family and provided the highest level of personal care and affection: Katherine Richardson, Miracle Rhodes, Britnaey Fowler, SeQuoya Mayfield, Shely Leonard, Charles Royal, and Christie Thomas.
The family also wishes to thank our loving and caring physicians: Dr. Ed Furniss, Dr. Hannah Deppisch, and Dr. Loyd Whitley.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Appleby Sand Road in Nacogdoches with Monsignor James E. Young and Father Joseph Lourdusamy officiating. Interment will follow at Swift Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with a rosary following at 7:00 p.m.
