

Mr. Ballow was born October 3, 1946, in Nacogdoches County, Texas, to parents William Wyatt Ballow and Lillie Mae (Smithhart) Ballow and was a 1964 graduate of Garrison High School. He served several years as Deputy Constable for Nacogdoches County Precinct 1 as well as an officer with the Sheriff's Department. Carlton was also a longtime member of the Appleby Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed coaching softball pitching in Cushing and also was a substitute teacher at Cushing and Garrison. Mr. Ballow had worked for Moore Business Forms and later as a poultry farmer.
His survivors include his wife of 49 years, Christina Ballow; sons and daughters-in-law, Sid and Dacia Ballow, James and Karen Ballow, and Jesse Ballow; a daughter and son-in-law, Crissy and Junior Williams; sister-in-law, Carolyn Ballow; and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wyatt and Lillie Mae Ballow; a grandson, Little Sid Ballow; son-in-law, Randy Sowell; and his brother, William Wayne Ballow.
Funeral services have been set for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, with Bro. Michael Self and Bro. Steve Ewton officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery, located off Hwy. 59 in Nacogdoches County.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 30, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
Pallbearers will be Blake Ballow, Colton Ballow, Jason Stewart, Kyle Rawlinson, Terry Ady, and John Chaviers.
