

Catherine Anderson Marshall was born November 30, 1927 in Nacogdoches to Truman Harris Anderson and Ollie Pauline Blanton Anderson., who preceded her in death. She passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013, after battling Alzheimer’s disease for over a decade.
Catherine attended public schools in Nacogdoches and was a graduate of Massey Business College. She worked in various office positions, but her main career was that of homemaker and mother. Catherine loved to garden, sew, travel in their GMC motorhome, and to spend time with her family. She had such a sweet spirit and truly enjoyed serving others. She married A. J. Marshall on November 7, 1946 and they were married for fifty-nine years until his death in 2006.
She was a long-time resident of Nacogdoches and a member of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church, where she served as secretary to her Sunday school class for many years. Catherine was also a member of The Ladies’ Sewing/Coffee Group for over forty-five years.
She is survived by her daughters Carla Middlebrook, and husband George, of Nacogdoches, and Linda Mayfield, and husband Glynne, of Hideaway, Texas. She is also survived by five grandchildren Christie Rasberry, George Middlebrook IV, Andrew Middlebrook, Jill Wade, Kyle Freeman and by nine great-grandchildren. Her life-long best friend, Lydia Bass Dillon, has been a true friend through her long illness. The family extends thanks to Magnolia Court Assisted Living and especially to her long-time caregivers--Sharon Culpepper, Dee Holcomb, Talitha Adams and Liz Sitton for the excellent care, love and support they have provided.
