

He was born Aug. 28, 1950, in Nacogdoches County, son of Ruby Lee (Clifton) Greening and Clarence Edward Greening Sr. and was a lifelong resident of the area. C.E. was a very accomplished carpenter and cabinet builder, taking great pride in his work. He also enjoyed country/western music and dancing.
Survivors include his brothers, Curtis Greening of Lufkin and Johnny Greening of Flint; sisters, Jean Rushing of Lufkin and Doris Vanover of Nacogdoches; ten nephews; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Payton Russell; and sisters, Merle Penny and Margie Dickerson.
Graveside service is set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Bethel Cemetery in Appleby with Bro. Dennis White officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 6, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers will be: Randal Wise, Allen Moore, Wayne McCarty, Jarrod Greening, Michael Greening, and Jeff Dickerson. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Aaron Polk Sr.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Aaron Polk Sr. and the staff at Nacogdoches Medical Center for the special care given to C.E.
