Daneta Sue Chaplin of Nacogdoches, formerly of Shenandoah, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, at Nacogdoches Medical Center at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 7 days. She was born March 20, 1942, in Richmond, California to parents Roy Eugene and Beulah (Whitaker) Daniel.
Daneta was a quiet woman who was strong in her faith, but when she spoke, people would listen. She was very funny and devoted to her husband and children. She married her husband, Ronald, at the age of 18 on December 10, 1960, in Reno, Nevada. Her hobbies included playing bingo, bowling, roller skating, and attending church.
Mrs. Chaplin was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Larry Daniel and Donald Lee Daniel.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald Lee Chaplin of Nacogdoches; daughter, Kellee Sue Harris and husband Glenn of Nacogdoches; sons, Steven Daniel Chaplin and wife Sheri of Huntsville and Thomas Lee Chaplin and wife Dana of The Woodlands; five grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; and numerous cousins and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel officiated by Bro. Edwin Findley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, New York 10163.
