David Lee Broadway passed away on September 3, 2019 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born on October 12, 1972 in Nacogdoches, Texas to parents, Sammy Glenn Broadway and Mary Lou Branton Broadway.

David wasn't just a son, brother, father, and grandfather; he was a man of many trades from driving an 18 wheeler to working on old hot rods rebuilding motors to a musician. His favorite was being a musician for sure; he not only played Lead Guitar for a local favorite Nickel Draft, they are kinda famous lol ;) but he wasn't just a musician, he was a song writer and wrote and recorded songs alongside his Band mates. He was also a big jokester always makes people smile even if it meant him being the butt of the joke. He made a huge impact on everyone he ever met, and lord knows he never met a stranger. Everyone who knew him knows how good of a father he was but as he would say it is being a pawpaw that was his favorite. He was the best Pawpaw ever in the eyes of his two granddaughters as they could do no wrong and could get away with murder. He will be missed and remembered by many as the years go on as he's now playing for the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Yancy LaVon Curbow. Survivors include: daughter, Jordan Leann Broadway and Wayne Bruce Munson; son, Aaron Glenn Broadway; daughter, Hannah Leigh Broadway; grandchildren, Savannah Nicole Munson and Madison Cheyenne Munson; sisters, Katherine Diane Curbow, Judy Lynn Broadway, and Tracie Broadway Rice and husband Jerry Rice, Jr.; niece, Angela Diane Smith; nephews, Jarrod Lavon Curbow and Jeremy McClain Curbow and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 in the Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 13, 2019, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.

I'm very sorry of the loss of Mr. Broadway. I never have had the pleasure of seeing Nickel Draft, but drummer Tommy Stanley is a longtime friend from knowing him in the WhoDunnit? band. We lost our dear friend and guitarist Wes Day on Sept. 1, and Tommy showed up at the celebration for Wes on sunday telling me of this other terrible loss only two days later. And having only come from Mr. Broadway's service. I feel very deeply for you all, and I know how tight the music community is in East Texas. I hope you will all find a way to carry on with the band after a healing period, I have a feeling Mr. Broadway would want that too.
As always, your Freddo.

When I met his daughter, she was just so cute. I told her that I sure did feel sorry for her dad when she was past 8 and older when she had boyfriends. She told me she had a boyfriend. I said, "you have a boyfriend"? She said yes but her daddy said she couldn't bring him to the house
