Dollie Faye Smelley Labosky passed away at home on November 11, 2025, at the age of 93 with her daughter Kay by her side. Dollie was born on March 1, 1932 in Nacogdoches, TX to Roseana (Pitman) and Walter Smelley.
Graduating from Cushing High School at age 16 Dollie enrolled in the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing where she received her LVN license. Dollie then embarked on a long career of nursing in the offices of Dr. James Beall and Dr. Thomas Pennington touching the lives of many patients with her kindness and compassion.
Upon retirement beloved “Nana” committed herself to fully being involved in any and all of her grandchildren and then great-grandchildren’s activities. On the other hand she would be found late at night in the hotel laundry washing cheerleader bloomers for granddaughter Hannah's cheer squad at Disney World.
Dollie met the love of her life and beloved husband of 42 years, Joseph Wesley Labosky while playing dominoes with friends. Dollie and Joe enjoyed together playing games, travel, and sharing her cooking with family and friends. Joe particularly admired Dollies’ strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for her family and community.
