

Earl T. Reneau, Jr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25th at the age of 88, with his wife and family by his side. Earl was born in Port Aurthur, Texas, and was the son of Earl T. Reneau, Sr., and Gladys Pyle. He graduated from Port Neches High School.
Earl has been married to Virginia Rambin Wright since 1997. Earl and Virginia enjoyed a beautiful, happy life together for 28 years. Earl was a devoted and loving husband, and always a gentleman. He loved his family, his church, and his Almighty God as a devoted Christian.
Earl enjoyed reading western books and his Bible, watching old western movies and feeding his backyard deer and birds. He always looked forward to traveling to Branson and other places to attend country music venues with Virginia.
Earl served his country for eight years in the Army National Guard out of Fort Hood during and around the Cold War. He retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice where he worked at several prison units as the Kitchen and Food Services Captain. Earl also worked at the VA Clinic in Lufkin after retirement.
Earl is survived by his wife Virginia, daughters Bridget Eldridge (Mark), Sheri Howard (Kevin), Valerie Hoffpauir (Dwayne). He was a loving Papaw to his grandchildren, Alex Miller, Kelsey Howard Taylor (Austin) and Shala Eldridge. Earl’s first great-grandchild is expected in the spring.
Earl is also survived by a brother, Danny Reneau and wife Carolynne, two nephews, Keith Reneau and Kevin Reneau, and two nieces, Jackie Moore and Mandy Hauck (Bill), their children, as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services to be held at Cason Monk Metcalf Funeral Home Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 2:00pm. Family, friends, and other loved ones are welcome to visit from 1:00-2:00 pm.
Special thanks to the physicians and nursing staffs at Nacogdoches Medical Center and the Garrison Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their services and kind support.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to First Christian Church, Nacogdoches, Senior Activities, the Nacogdoches VFW post or to Camp Hope, PTSD Foundation of America.
