A longtime resident of the Nacogdoches area, Mrs. Hanna attended school in Martinsville and Nacogdoches. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She was also a member of The Church of Christ, attending worship services at the church closest to where she was living. She worked as a secretary at Pilgrim’s Pride Hatchery, a teacher’s aide at Martinsville School, and at Moore Business Farms. Her passion through most of her life, however, was taking care of her house and home as a homemaker raising 4 children.
Mrs. Hanna was very friendly with everybody, never meeting anyone that she didn’t want to befriend. She always said that she had a soft shoulder for babies to lay their heads, and she loved rocking them to sleep. She enjoyed reading, needle work, and “her shows.” She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.
Elna was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Edgar Hanna; and daughter, Gayla Fancher.
She is survived by her brother, A.L. Johnston; daughters, Louise Rambin and husband Charles and Jo Crabtree and husband Marvin; son, Marc Hanna; grandchildren, Jason Hanna and wife Mary, Jennifer Mettlen and husband Matt, Kyle Crabtree and wife Joanna, Marcia Crabtree, Charles Lacy Rambin, Steve Rambin, Kevin Rambin, and Kenny Rambin; great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Creed, Zachary, Natalie, Solon, Dreyvin, and Naloni; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300
