He was born April 9, 1936, in Pittsburg, Texas, to parents Elvin Reel and Myrtle (Canant) McCaslin.
After retiring from his management position at Dow Chemical in 1995, Mr. McCaslin moved to Nacogdoches with his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth, in 1997. He enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events.
Mac was member of the Texas Rabbit Breeder Association and 4H where he was able to teach children the many different tasks involved in raising animals. He was the first of three generations of FFA presidents in his family. He was also a member of the National Honor Society, and he held his State Farmer Degree. He even built his own AM Radio, which his children claim could shock you if you weren’t careful.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Knight and Gladys Cravey; and brother, Elvin Boyd McCaslin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth McCaslin; sons, Elton E. McCaslin, Jr. and wife Sherry, Kenneth B. McCaslin and wife Ramona, and Monte D.
