Evelyn was born July 27, 1925, in Nacogdoches, TX, to Earnest James and Freddie (Sieber) King. Evelyn married her high school sweetheart, Hubert Andrew Mott, on July 22, 1945. Shortly after they moved to Walla Walla, Washington where she was employed by the War Department at Army Airfield Walla Walla as a Civil Servant in the Finance Department. With the birth of their first-born son, Evelyn was promoted to Household Executive Engineer. Over time she became world-traveled having visited and or lived in many different countries on both hemispheres.
Evelyn loved life, and her family. She enjoyed golf, fishing, scrabble, yatzi and reading. She loved her church and church family, her pastor and her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Preceding Evelyn in death were her mother and father, her husband, Hubert, her brothers Aubrey, Russell, and James King; her sons Hubert Jr and Kerry. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Wilma and husband Sonny Battle, daughter Toni B. Mott, son Alan R. Mott and his wife, Rhonda; daughter-in-law Tok Nam (Kim) Mott and a wealth of beloved nieces and nephews and honorary “grand-daughters.”
The family would like to thank everyone associated the Willis Knighton Healthcare System, Red River Home Health Care, and the Post Acute Medical (PAM) Specialty Hospital Shreveport. Special thanks to our church family at the Pentecostals of Bossier for their outpouring of love and prayers ever since Evelyn walked across their threshold in September of 1995.
