Frances preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Manual Portillo, Ray Portillo, Ernest Portillo; four sisters, Emelia Grado, Sarah Acosta, Antonia Dunckhorst, and Katy Reyes.
Surviving relatives include her husband of 66 beautiful years, Frank A. Lujan; her son, William (Bill) F. Lujan and daughter-in-law, Carolyn A. Lujan;grandchildren Yvonne Mendoza, Jennifer Duncan, Melissa Walker and husband Zane Walker, Sean Lujan and wife, Stacy Lujan, Ed Fincher and wife Tammy Fincher, and Michael Fincher and wife Charlotte Fincher ; seventeen great grandchildren; nieces, Irene Goltz from Oregon, and Ruby Block from California; and nephew Eddie Portillo from /El Paso, New Mexico; and many dear friends.
Frances was known as a quiet women who was private about her affairs. When she was with her family she loved spending time with them and especially enjoyed her garden, fishing, camping and baking specialties. Some of her favorites would include homemade carrot cake, fresh baked pizza, and her family favorite recipe of tamales. We will miss her smile and her gentleness and look forward to seeing her again soon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Appleby Sand Road in Nacogdoches with Father James Roland officiating. Her family will be her pallbearers.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, January, 30 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street Nacogdoches from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with Rosary following. Interment will take place at the Fort Bayard National Cemetery in New Mexico at a later date.
