

She was born in Cumby, Texas, January 20, 1941, the daughter of Albert W. and Minnie Lee (Miller) Summers.
She was in the 1959 graduating class of Stephen F. Austin High School in Austin, Texas. Upon graduation, she worked as a beautician with her mother in a family-owned salon. Later in life, she was an assistant manager with Texas-T and Sav-A-Lot groceries.
Glenna was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Nacogdoches, Texas and previously served as FYC Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Council Member, Altar Guild Director and Vestry Member. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) - Nacogdoches Chapter 6-078-TX; Daughters of Confederacy – Henry C. Hancock Chapter 2364, Nacogdoches, Texas; Order of the Eastern Star (50 years) – Austin Chapter 304, Austin, Texas; Creative Reading Club and the Spin-Offs Club, Nacogdoches, Texas.
She married Kai H. Sorensen on April 23, 1960, in St. George’s Episcopal Church, Austin, Texas and he survives her. Also surviving are her sons, Niels K. (Denise) Sorensen of San Antonio, and Eric W. Sorensen of Nacogdoches, grandsons, David G. and Sean T. Sorensen of San Antonio, brother-in-law, Arthur Jacob of Austin, and sisters-in-law, Carol-Lynn Caldwell of Hawkins, Texas and Barbara Summers of Jackson, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Caley A. Summers and two sons, Kai N. and Caley A. Sorensen, and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Jacob.
Memorial Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Nacogdoches, Texas on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10 A.M. with Rev. Jim Watson officiating. Inurnment will be in the Christ Episcopal Church Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice.
