Hazel Marie Thacker

Hazel Marie Wilkinson Thacker, age 87, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 in Nacogdoches. She was born April 26, 1936 in Woden, Texas to parents Marvin Wilkinson and Grace (Hill) Wilkinson.

Mrs. Thacker attended Reagan High School in the Heights Community of Houston, Texas. She enjoyed reading books, gardening, oil painting, thrifting, and crocheting. She was a huge fan of the Houston Astros and loved listening to Bluegrass and Gospel music.

Mrs. Thacker was married for 39 years to Glendon "Cotton" Thacker and raised 5 children together. She took care of her home as a homemaker and enjoyed spending that time with her children.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Glendon Thacker; and daughter, Joann Thacker.

She is survived by her brother William Wilkinson and wife Betty of Elkhart, Texas; daughter, Terri Killion and husband Dwight of Liberty Hill, Texas; daughter, Debra Foster of Nacogdoches, Texas; son, Gary Thacker and wife Brenda of Alto, Texas; son, Norman Thacker of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, Donna Arnold, James Killion, Kelly Foster, Adam Foster, Shanna Nunez, Amanda Riley, and Cole Thacker; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
