Jacky Carlton Collins, 71, of Nacogdoches, Texas, was born on July 19, 1954, to John C. Jr and Doris Wilma Matlock Collins. He entered the Kingdom of Heaven in the loving arms of his Savior on January 22, 2026, surrounded by love and the legacy of a life well lived. For 51 beautiful years, Jacky shared an unbreakable bond with his devoted wife, Regina Collins, building a family rooted in faith, strength, and unconditional love.
Jacky was a proud and loving father to Janie Poskey (Justin) of Nacogdoches and Christy Muirhead (Steve) of Melrose. Nothing brought him greater joy than being “Poppa” to his grandchildren: Collin Muirhead (fiancée, Eryn Broadus), Lora Poskey, Lexi Poskey, and Macey Muirhead, each one holding a special place in his heart.
A 1972 graduate from Nacogdoches High School, he was a hardworking man who was employed at numerous companies throughout his life, including Nibco, International Paper, Pluss Tex/Pilgrim Pride, Temple Inland, and CalTex, before retiring from Tyson after 16 years of dedicated service.
In addition to employment, he was an entrepreneur at heart, he purchased his first tractor and began discing, brush hogging, harvesting hay, and hauling logs. For the past 30 years, he owned and operated Jacky Collins Clean Out, where he spread litter for many local chicken farmers—work he took great pride in.
When he wasn't working, he enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, riding horses, family time, attending his grandchildren's events, playing the guitar and singing. He had a special gift and took pride in teaching the younger generation how to play guitar.
He is survived by his beloved wife; his daughters and their spouses; his cherished grandchildren; his sister, Bobbie Collins Lesley; his in-laws; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jacky was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Wilma Collins; his brothers, Gary Collins and Jerry Collins; and his sisters, Janette Sowell and Cheryl Rogers.
Jacky will be remembered for his steady presence, generous heart, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His laughter, wisdom, and quiet strength will live on in every life he touched.
