

Funeral services for James E. Paro, 77, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nacogdoches, Texas. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches.
James passed away in Nacogdoches on November 7, 2010.
James was born April 17, 1933, in Faribault, Minnesota, to Clyde and Madge Fent Paro.
Jim was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was not afraid to speak his mind, give his opinions, and tell what he liked.
He had a God given gift of being a good story teller. Stories so long he would put you to sleep. He never met a stranger.
He served in the US Navy as a Fireman 3rd Class from 1952 to 1956 and received an Honorable Discharge. While in the Navy he traveled to 15 different countries off the Atlantic Ocean with the 6th fleet. After leaving the Navy he attended bricklaying school becoming a professional bricklayer for 25 years in Springfield, MO. He also was a dairy and beef farmer for 10 years in the Springfield, MO, area. Before retiring he worked in the maintenance department at Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches for 15 years.
Jim was an avid Nascar race fan for years and attended the nascar races in Talladega, Alabama, with his son Brad. He also was a coin collector and has numerous old coins in his collection.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lorraine Paro; daughter, Linda Pierce of Springfield, MO; son, Mike Paro of Buffalo, MO; son, Brad Paro of Nacogdoches, TX; daughter, Denise Paro of Nacogdoches, TX, daughter, Anita Stokes of Nacogdoches, TX, daughter, Amy Thompson of Choudrant, LA; daughter, Delcie Paro of Nacogdoches, TX; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Clyde and Madge Fent Paro; son, Kevin Paul Paro, and daughters, Monica Jean Paro and Lisa Paro Rice.
Pallbearers will be Charles J. Paro, Keith D. Paro, Kevin M. Paro, Casey J. Stokes, Jeremy W. Davis, and Jack W. Noble.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 9, 2010, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm.
