

Born on August 4, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas, Jeanette was the daughter of Thekla (Stahl) Sutorius and Martin Luther Sutorius. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and devoted over 30 years of her life to serving others as a Critical Care Registered Nurse.
A woman of deep faith and many talents, Jeanette enjoyed reading, sewing, needlework, gardening, playing piano, creating stained glass artwork, and making a wide variety of desserts during the holidays. For 46 years, she faithfully played piano and organ for Advent Lutheran Church in Houston, enriching the worship experience for her church community. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nacogdoches.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard William Miller; daughters, Cheryl Carpenter and husband Chuck and Laura Holt Treadaway and husband Jack; grandchildren, Tana Haile and husband Ben, Stephanie Liner and husband Ryan, Brittany Dilworth, and Ryan Dilworth and wife Jennifer; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home in Nacogdoches, officiated by The Reverend John Cain. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
