

Funeral services for John William Daughtery, 83, of Nacogdoches County will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Bro. John Withem officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Nacogdoches County.
Mr. Daughtery passed away September 17, 2010, in Houston, Texas, after a brief illness.
Mr. Daughtery was born January 23,1927, in Escambia County, Alabama, to the late John William Daughtery and Eva Mae Sundy Daughtery.
John and Jessie L. Montgomery Daughtery were married on December 23, 1948. John was discharged from the U.S. Army in 1947, where he served in the Korean Occupation. John farmed in West Texas until 1953, worked in construction until 1982, and then until his death was a poultry farmer. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors: his wife, Jessie L. Daughtery; children, Paula J. Roark of Garrison, Ronnie Daughtery and wife Sue of Garrison, Gary Daughtery and wife Sandra of Diboll, John Daughtery Jr. and wife Sherry of Grandview, and Cannis Ulbrich and husband Philip of New Braunfels; brother, Oren Lancaster Jr. of Big Spring; sisters, Shirley Weaver and Mary Ray, both of Big Spring; grandchildren, Kelly Jo Crump, Jessica Corley, Emilee Hood, Craig Daughtery, Jarrod Daughtery, Christopher Daughtery, Katie Fredrich, Hannah Ulbrich, Larissa Ulbrich, and Ryan Daughtery; and great-grandchildren, Quinton Hood, Connor Crump, Tanner Crump, Avery Crump, Alissa Daughtery, and Tristan Daughtery.
Pallbearers: Edward Hood, Eric Corley, Jarrod Daughtery, Albert Morales, Robert Fredrich, Ryan Daughtery, Michael Crump.
Honorary pallbearers are Dave Chalkers, Lamar Lilly, Troyce Wilson, Doug Spivey, Donnie Vaughn, and Clayton Jacks.
