John E. Kolb passed away on January 1, 2019 at his home in Chireno, TX. He was born on July 4, 1944 in Mt. Enterprise. His parents were Burton and Kitty Kolb.

This man never had acquaintances only conversations, hundreds of them. With each one a friendship was born. John was known as a jack of all trades. His primary profession was as a carpenter. During his long career he built hundreds of homes, barns and completed many other projects. The work of his hands can be seen all around this community. He worked hard to provide for the needs for his wife and children. John loved horses, cattle and dogs especially. Saddling up and riding horses was one of his most favorite things to do. You would find him team roping, bull dogging, rounding up or at the auction barn. The outdoors suited him just fine. He liked being comfortable in his overalls and striking up a new conversation with someone he had not met before. His favorite color was blue and his favorite food was good home cooking like collard greens, cornbread and pinto beans.

He was preceded in death by Annie Mae Kolb his wife since May 7th 1963. His parents; brother-in-law, Eugene Halsted and great granddaughter, Kelsey Lewis.
