

Johnnie Faye Harris Mackey was born on September 3, 1946 in Hobbs, New Mexico to parents John Thomas Spencer Jr. and Dorothy (Blue) Spencer. Most of her life was spent in the town of Palo Pinto, Texas. She was an extremely hard working woman who ran a beauty shop and a post business. Johnnie loved spending time with all of her family and friends, and she cared for them deeply. She was a very social person and made friends easily.
After suffering a stroke in 2008, she moved to Nacogdoches County where she was cared for by her brother, John Spencer and his wife Brenda. She stayed as active as possible and loved attending church services with the Trinity Baptist Church of Lufkin, Texas.
Johnnie was delivered to the Lord’s hands in the early morning hours of December 5, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tutter Mackey; sister, Joyce Torbert; and daughter, Dianna Goodrum.
She is survived by her sister Dottie Nash and husband Gerald; brother John Spencer and wife Brenda; son-in-law, J.R. Goodrum; grandchildren, Randal Goodrum, Rusty Goodrum, Shaun Goodrum, Sandra Price; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be missed deeply by all that knew her.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Brad Cemetery in Brad, Texas officiated by Bro. Allen Fires.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Nacogdoches.
